TLT Hosts Engaging Winter School Workshop at IUS
The Turkish Language and Literature, Teaching (TLT) study program at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) successfully organized an engaging workshop as part of the Winter School “Show and Tell,” welcoming prospective students interested in studying Turkish language, literature, and teaching.
The program brought together TLT faculty members and students to present the study program in an informative and interactive way. During the workshop, professors introduced participants to the curriculum, study objectives, and the wide range of professional development opportunities available to TLT students. Special attention was given to how the program supports both academic growth and practical preparation for future careers in education and related fields.
A particularly valuable part of the session came from second-year TLT students, who shared their personal experiences of studying at IUS. Speaking openly about the academic environment, the teaching and learning process, and everyday student life, they offered prospective students an authentic perspective on what it means to be part of the TLT community.
Students also presented the program’s vibrant extracurricular dimension, highlighting projects, workshops, cultural activities, and events that enrich learning beyond the classroom. Through these examples, participants gained insight into the program’s emphasis on practical work, creativity, and active student engagement - both academically and socially.
At the end of the workshop, participants expressed their satisfaction with the organization and content of the event, noting that the experience helped them better understand the TLT study program, the university environment, and student perspectives - supporting them in making a more informed decision about their future education.
