IUS Professor Dr. Dženana Bračković Joins First Balkan Turkology Workshop in Tirana

Assistant Professor Dr. Dženana Bračković from the Turkish Language and Literature, Teaching (TLT) study program at the IUS Faculty of Education (FEDU) participated in the 1st Balkan Turkology Workshop held on June 26, 2025.

Held under the auspices of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, the inaugural Balkan Turkology Workshop brought together scholars and institutional representatives at the University of New York Tirana. Organized by the TMF UNYT Balkan Research Center in cooperation with BALTED, the hybrid-format event gathered distinguished Turkologists from Albania, Türkiye, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Moldova (Gagauzia), and beyond.

The opening session featured addresses by Mr. Ahmet Türkben (TMF), Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, Prof. Dr. Cihan Özdemir (Balkan Research Center), Assoc. Prof. Atıf Akgün, and Assoc. Prof. Alpay İğci (BALTED).

The workshop discussions centered on strengthening regional cooperation, enhancing institutional engagement, and advancing the field of Turkology throughout the Balkans.
